Debut & First Sale

When OriginClear Inc. debuted its on-site water treatment solution this year, its Modular Water Systems division, the first sale was to a craft brewery. Modular Water Systems is radically different in that it deploys a manufacturing approach totally unique to the water and wastewater industry in North America.

Modular Water's Structurally Reinforced ThermoPlastics

The focus on delivering standardized and custom engineered products utilizing Structurally Reinforced ThermoPlastics (or SRTP) allows the company to provide its customers with infrastructure solutions that overcome the limitations associated with painted steel and conventional concrete.

SRTP in the form of HDPE plastic permits the ability to deliver extremely robust wastewater treatment systems. With a typical vessel service life approximating 100 years, which is typically three to four times longer than conventional steel and concrete, SRTP materials represent a major advancement in the delivery and sustainment of the world’s water infrastructure systems. Treatment Capacities range from 1,000 GPD up to 250,000 GPD.

Civil engineers and utility owners are faced with the daunting task of trying to service an ever-growing threat to the environment resulting from deteriorated and failing utility systems, and the implementation of SRTP based solutions offers a real significant material advancement that will overcome these serious challenges and sustainability limitations.

“Instead of rebuilding our current infrastructure, we can equip water users to treat their own water with small, modular water treatment systems that can be built and installed locally,” stated Riggs Eckelberry, OriginClear CEO. “The opportunity is clear: Move to a decentralized structure.”

Modular's Daniel Early P.E.

Modular Water Systems unit President Dan Early has pioneered the use of heavy reinforced plastic materials to create modular water-systems-in-a-box. Not only is reinforced thermoplastic faster and cheaper to build, but it has at least three times the lifespan as compared with concrete-and-steel construction. His inventions have led to the patented Wastewater System & Method for which OriginClear holds world exclusive rights.

Modular Water Systems is domiciled at OriginClear’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Progressive Water Treatment of McKinney, Texas, and will rely on Progressive’s manufacturing facilities until it develops its own in-house facilities.
