Message to Big Oil: Stop Killing Clean Tech!

Hi again,

I wrote a piece for the op-ed page in the Los Angeles Daily News today. You can read it here.

In short, "two Texas oil companies are spending millions on a ballot measure for November that will overturn California’s clean energy and clean air standards." I strongly oppose that. I hope you will too.

I appreciate that Big Oil is heavily committed to industrializing algae, as the next big source of liquid fuels. This is a fantastic development.

But without support for clean energy in our home state, we will tend to do business elsewhere. As I said in the piece, "My own company, OriginOil, has found its first major customer ... in Australia! So they get the jobs and the cleaner air. That sends a message."

Meanwhile, our new CTO Brian Goodall is settling in and is proving to be a dynamic member of the team. We are now building both our technology and commercialization teams to respond to very strong market demand. Thanks for all the strong messages of support!
