Good afternoon!

California Research Site Sneak Peek

Things are going amazingly well at the site in Bakersfield and our equipment is proving itself at full scale.

Expect more news next week!

In the meantime, here's a photo to whet your appetite...

OK, on to the survey.

Question 1: whom should we add to the list?

Here's what I wrote, with their proposed positions on the list:

  • Miguel Verhein, Executive Director, Algasol Renewables - 30
  • Pierre Tauzinat, CEO, Ennesys - 40
  • Nicholas Eckelberry, Chief Research Officer, OriginOil - 50
  • Jean-Louis Kindler, Chief Commercial Officer, OriginOil - 60

Who are these people?

Miguel Verhein really deserves to be on this list.

His "floating bag" technology is unique in the world, and is now firmly patented worldwide.

It makes algae production incredibly cost-effective, and solves the problem of open-pond algae contamination.

We're working with him on a big fish feed roll-out in BangladeshThat literally could transform food production and hunger in South Asia!

Pierre Tauzinat is the CEO and co-founder of Ennesys, our joint venture in Paris that is showing how energy can be produced from building sewage and algae.

A year ago, Ennesys closed a round at a $6 million valuation, after a state visit by the President of France.

Ennesys is closely tied in with France's bioenergy push. A year is a long time, and Pierre and his team have been very, very busy. Expect BIG NEWS in 2015.

Then there's my brother Nicholas, co-founder and inventor of our technology.  'Nuff said!

And finally, our longtime friend and colleague, "JL" Kindler, another Ennesys co-founder, and now spearheading our expansion into China and East Asia!

You make up your own mind...

Question #2: who should stay on the list!

Last year I was honored with position 95 on the list, which is pretty amazing given how big the bioeceonomy has become, worldwide.

So please, paste my name into the second box!

Also, let's support Barry Cohen, Executive Director, National Algae Association - he's at number 76 now.

And finally, let's give thanks to the late Mary Rosenthal, Exec Dir, Algae Biomass Organization, who passed away last year after a battle with cancer.

She is in number 30 and I think this year's listing should keep her in that position, in her memory.

So this is the list for Question #2 (you choose the new rankings!)

  • Riggs Eckelberry, CEO, OriginOil (now #95)
  • Barry Cohen, Executive Director, National Algae Association (now #76)
  • Mary Rosenthal, Exec Dir, Algal Biomass Organization (now #30)

Thank you for your help, it means a lot to us all...

Here's to a great 2015 together!
