Dear Shareholder,
What happens when Exxon Mobil, so skeptical about green energy, commits $600 million to algae? For starters, growing press coverage for us.

Press Coverage
The New York Times carried my comment when the oil giant announced its massive investment: “A couple years ago, the petroleum institute said there’s only [twenty] years left for oil, and now they’re really finally acting on that… Algae is the feedstock to overtake petroleum. It’s the real alternative to petroleum.” (Article). Biodiesel Magazine followed and there’s much more on the way.

New Algae 2020 report: Forbes and other publications list OriginOil as a key player in this report which says “markets for algae-based biodiesel, Biocrude, and biomass-derived green chemicals and plastics will start to enter early-stage commercial production by the end of 2011.” Yes indeed.

Lab Progress
Meanwhile, in the lab, the summer is heating up. You probably caught the announcement about our new bio-feedback algae controller. And also the exciting new high-efficiency LEDs we are testing – check out the photos here. Don’t be surprised to see more strong technical announcements…

Spreading the Decentralized Message
In our release yesterday I repeated the point I made at the UN back in June: “…We know that entrepreneurs worldwide want to start making biofuels now for their local communities and industries. That’s the model of the future – we call it ‘mushrooms after the rain’.” Check out the cool UN video.

The world is ready for algae to become a reality. OriginOil is out in front in that race. That is very, very exciting. As always, with your support, which we greatly appreciate!

Riggs

OriginOil one of the “50 Hottest Companies in Bioenergy”
“Even at this early stage of the algae-to-energy race, OriginOil has proven itself to be a ‘hot’ company to watch closely, with a unique technology path that has generated a great deal of attention.” Jim Lane, Editor/Biofuels Digest
