The Algae Manhattan Project
Hi again!
This Monday, as we remember the men and women who put themselves into harm’s way, it’s worth remembering, too, that the military itself is driving for energy independence. They know the cost in terms of lives and treasure.
Bill Paul, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, helps make that point in his article: “Exxon Could Be the Answer to America’s Energy Problems”, in which he proposes that President Obama declare a Manhattan Project to save our country with algae.
And he says algae may even help the coal-fired utilities thrive — by absorbing their CO2! As we have learned with our first customer, this is a very good reason to invest in our young industry.
In the meantime, Bill Paul has this advice:
“For risk-inclined investors who believe that all this may be on the way, a company that might be worth a closer look right now is tiny OriginOil… The company has started signing up customers as it begins commercializing a technology for producing biofuel from algae using CO2 emissions captured from smokestacks.” Click here to read the full article.
That is pretty stunning! As are many of the developments here, as we accelerate on our path to market.
I’ll tell you more in the weeks to come. Meanwhile, remember — and enjoy your Memorial Day!
