Fiscal Cliff Solved – Algae Gets Parity

The Fiscal Cliff Helps Algae
On New Year’s Eve, our nation’s lawmakers came together to fix our Fiscal Cliff.
Several renewable energy credits were saved or restored — among them, a $1.01 per gallon production tax credit for biofuels.
And that list now includes fuel made from algae!
Our thanks go to Mary Rosenthal and her team at our own Algae Biomass Organization (ABO), for the years of hard work that went into this win.
It’s just another sign that the algae industry is coming of age.
Cleaning Up Oil and Gas Water
So algae gets a win, and cleaning up oil and gas water is a booming business too, thanks to growing industry awareness.
Looks like our two major industry sectors are in good shape!
Back in July at an industry conference, Anadarko’s Jim Raney stated that disposal of contaminated water is going to become more difficult and that water treatment for reuse has become essential.
He identified a need to develop treatment systems that are: compact with minimal footprint, capable of high throughput, use minimal energy, and can remove oil, grease and organics.
Hmmm, looks like our own Clean-Frac™ system can help…
And I’ll be reporting in weeks to come on our progress in doing so. From where I stand, this year is off to a great start.
