They’re off to Australia!

I thought you would enjoy photos and a video (just click on SLIDESHOW) of our new FULL-SIZE Single Step Extraction™ systems as they were being loaded last week into a 40-foot container on the way to Australia.

These units are destined for MBD Energy’s Algae from CO2 project at the coal-fired Tarong Power Station, which you first saw last year in the video “OriginOil Scales Up In Australia“.

Bill Charneski, our head of Product Engineering, ran whole chemical plants for Dow Chemical. He has done an absolutely fantastic job here, delivering top-quality products for our showcase customer. And in the process, finding money-saving efficiencies.

So Bill got a well-deserved round of applause at our commercialization meeting yesterday!

Response to the Model Four

Speaking of commercialization, the new Model Four is getting great responses from our target customers, the up-and-coming new algae companies.

We leveraged a technology breakthrough into a much lower entry-level price — that any department head can approve. Now we’re taking advance orders well ahead of production.

The accelerating algae market

The stakes are high: the market for new algae technologies like ours will be worth half a BILLION dollars a year by 2015. (See Page 5 of our Company Presentation.)

Put another way, the algae market will grow from just over $200 million in 2010, to over $1.5 billion just three years from now, and one-third of it will be in enabling technologies.

It’s now algae’s time, and OriginOil is here to help enable it.
