In Australia Next Week
This time next week, I will be in Townsville for Algae World Australia. I’ll be speaking on “Scaling Up — From the Lab to the Field”.
That’s quite the fascinating subject (really!), because this is where MBD Energy has been testing high-volume growth and harvesting with us, in preparation for the big ramp-up at Tarong Power Station further south.
The tour of MBD’s facility at James Cook University the next day is heavily overbooked.
What an amazing success story… from MBD’s start in a university test site to its recent $100 million IPO announcement! We are honored to be on their team.
Australia and Asia-Pacific
In today’s Wall Street Journal: “With countries running out of fiscal bullets to fend off a global economic downturn, Australia is in the enviable position of having little debt, a triple-A credit rating…”
That’s a very good reason for algae production to be ramping up in Australia. In fact, the entire Asia-Pacific area, with relatively much better financials than the rest of the world, is about to adopt algae biomass production in a big way.
Expect to hear more about this soon.
And for the first time, we will be going to China! Our top technologist Paul Reep has been asked to speak at the 4th ALGAE World ASIA, planned for Beijing in mid-November. Stay tuned.

FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulating Authority, has been reviewing our application, and we expect the split will be effective soon.
