Good morning!

We got great feedback on our announcement of a collaboration with DOE on an algae feedstock standard. Thank you!

A uniform feedstock is the key to a booming industry. Stay tuned for much more.

About Algae Standards

To learn more, go to my Algae Industry Magazine article, "It’s Time to Set Uniform Algae Feedstock Standards", where you can also find a link to the webinar slides from the August DOE workshop.

If you are in our sector and are interested in doing more on this, please get in touch with me.

Algae and the Elevance IPO

Our friends at Elevance have announced their upcoming Initial Public Offering, becoming "the 11th company to file for an IPO in the industrial biotech boom" which began in 2010.

Elevance is a highly successful Cargill spinoff making bioplastics, and has said since 2009 that it wants to start using algae as its feedstock.

US Military Developing Biofuels from Algae

Meanwhile, as a recent Sierra magazine article noted, "The Air Force and the Navy are taking the lead in developing biofuels for aircraft (vehicles, ships, and generators are next in line) from nonfood crops such as the camelina seed and algae."

There is certainly a market for algae, and we are moving at light speed to provide the critical harvesting technology that this market needs.

Have a great week!
