OriginOil files international patent for algae-to-oil technology

OriginOil has filed a Patent Co-operation Treaty application that consolidates the company’s intellectual property protection at the international level for its inventions in algae production and oil extraction… OriginOil, based in Los Angeles, says its inventions address challenging problems in the culturing of microalgae, including high-energy utilisation, fouling of light-emitting surfaces and diurnal growth cycles.
