Renewable Energy Conference Invites T. Boone Pickens and Riggs Eckelberry to Discuss Frack Water Recycling On Stage
AREDAY 2014 Summit will feature a frack water discussion for the first time in its decade-long history
Los Angeles, CA and Aspen, CO – July 24, 2014 – OriginOil Inc. (OTC/QB: OOIL), developer of Electro Water Separation™ (EWS), the high-speed, chemical-free process to clean up large quantities of water, and the American Renewable Energy Day (AREDAY) (www.areday.net), announced today that CEO Riggs Eckelberry will discuss frack water recycling with legendary energy executive, T. Boone Pickens on the stage of the 2014 Summit, on August 12 at 10:45am.
Eckelberry will join the armchair conversation between Pickens, chairman and CEO, BP Capital, and summit organizer Chip Comins. Noted ethicist David Trickett, Founder & President of The Jefferson Circle, will also join.
This is the first time in its eleven-year history that frack water has been a topic at the renewable energy summit. The conversation will focus on the importance of best practices to help the country transition from coal to cleaner natural gas.
Pickens is the architect of the Pickens Plan designed to address the national security and economic threat posed by America’s dependence on OPEC oil. That campaign (pickensplan.com) has grown into a grassroots army of two million Americans pushing those objectives at the federal and state level.
“We are undergoing an energy revolution in this country,” said Chip Comins, Chairman and CEO of the American Renewable Energy Institute. “While there is tremendous debate on the pros and cons of petroleum drilling, one thing we do know: it is vital for all concerned to recycle the water being used in fracking. I look forward to a lively conversation between OriginOil, an innovator in frack water cleanup, and natural gas champion T. Boone Pickens. David Trickett will contribute his unique ethical insights. It promises to be a milestone conversation.”
“It’s all about the water,” said Riggs Eckelberry, OriginOil CEO. “For operators, cost and availability are major concerns. Communities, farmers and industry must focus on their supplies of clean water. Our technology has been shown to clean up frack water quickly and efficiently, a win-win for all concerned. I’m delighted to discuss common sense best practices like these on stage at AREDAY 2014.”
This is the second year that OriginOil has sponsored the AREDAY Summit. The technology company originally developed its breakthrough technology to harvest algae for biofuels, and has since applied the same process to removing petroleum, bacteria and chemicals from frac flowback and produced water.
This year’s AREDAY will be held at the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, from 10-13 August. A list of speakers is available at www.areday.net/summit/areday_2014.

Former President Jimmy Carter will keynote this year’s AREDAY Summit. He will be joined by Ted Turner, T. Boone Pickens, General Wesley Clark, former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, and many others, to promote rapid deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency strategies.
Founded in 2004 as a one-day renewable energy expo, American Renewable Energy Day (AREDAY) is now one of the most important renewable energy technology and policy summits in the United States. Held annually in Aspen, Colorado each August, AREDAY attracts national and international attention with its impressive roster of speakers and participants.
