OriginOil CEO To Present On Company’s Breakthrough Technology During Algae Biofuels Summit 2009

- Riggs Eckelberry to Join Key Panel on Industry Drivers and Business Models on March 24, 2009 -

Los Angeles, CA - March 4, 2009 - OriginOil, Inc. (OTCBB: OOIL), the developer of a breakthrough technology to transform algae, the most promising source of renewable oil, into a true competitor to petroleum, has announced that the company’s CEO, Riggs Eckelberry, will be joining a key panel of industry leaders at the Algae Biofuels Summit in San Francisco, California, on March 24, 2009.

The Algae Biofuels World Summit will be the first major event focused on the algae biofuels “value chain,” starting with technologies and continuing through manufacturers, partners and service providers before reaching the customer. This year’s guest list includes representatives from the US Department of Energy, the US Department of Agriculture, US Airways and the National Algae Association, among many others.
“We came to OriginOil last year with the idea of extending our well-proven value chain concept to the new industry of algae biofuels,” said Bill Meyer, President of Infocast, the organizer of the conference. He continued, “CEO Riggs Eckelberry gave us his immediate support and quickly enlisted other players such as the National Algae Association. OriginOil is clearly committed to building an algae biofuels industry and has already shown itself to be a strong player in our fast-growing community.”

Eckelberry will join executives from Solazyme, the National Biodiesel Board and Marathon Oil in the first panel of the Summit, “Algae Biofuels Industry Drivers and Business Models,” to help provide a vision of “what structures and business models will lead to industry success.” The agenda covers the full value chain, from “vertical integration to geographical expansion, from technology licensing to international partnerships, from project development to supply contracts.”

“OriginOil has taken the lead in advocating a strong community that knits together researchers, manufacturers, providers and customers in a worldwide network,” said Eckelberry. “The Algae Biofuels Summit directly supports this vision and that is why we have been such strong supporters of the event. We look forward to the opportunity to build a central role for algae in helping to reduce the world’s dependence on petroleum.”

The Algae Biofuels World Summit will take place from March 23-25 at the Marines Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco, CA. For more information or to attend the seminar, visit http://www.infocastinc.com/index.php/conference/algae09 .
