OriginClear Helps Launch CEO Summit for Natural Processing and Truth in Labeling

Water reclamation and treatment to play a critical role in natural food production

Los Angeles, CA – 10 March, 2016 – OriginClear Inc. (OTC/QB: OOIL), a leading provider of water treatment solutions, today announced that it is a founding member of a CEO Summit designed to address truth in labeling and natural processing methods.

The inaugural Summit will be held on March 12, 2016, during Natural Products Expo West, beginning at 3:30pm at Morton’s Steakhouse in Anaheim, California. Kantha Shelke, PhD, food scientist and mainstream journalist for Bloomberg, TIME, and Newsweek, will moderate.

“With droughts and water shortages, farmers are turning to reclaimed water sources for irrigation,” said Riggs Eckelberry, OriginClear CEO. “This reclaimed water must be rigorously cleaned. We support all efforts to raise public awareness on the need for sustainable and high-quality water resources in our food chain.”

“We are excited to be working with like-minded CEOs,” Eckelberry added. “They understand that the natural foods industry must communicate transparently to consumers.”

“As the largest maker of rice and pea protein ingredients in the U.S., we are very concerned with the quality of the water that goes into growing these water-intensive crops”, said David Janow, CEO of Axiom Foods and the Summit’s host. “OriginClear is working across industries to help assure the cleanest water, and I welcome CEO Riggs Eckelberry’s participation in this Summit.”

In a 2015 paper presented to the International Water Conference, OriginClear and its partner, TriSep Corporation, showed that electrochemical treatment by OriginClear, followed by a polishing stage from TriSep Corporation, can eliminate detectable levels of oil, enabling water reuse in agriculture and steam boilers.

Through its partnership with California State University Bakersfield (CSUB), OriginClear is helping to develop processes to safely reclaim used waters for farmers and other water-intensive industries. With help from its partners, OriginClear is helping safeguard food systems against modern water scarcity challenges. (Video Whiteboard: Oil Production and Water)

OriginClear’s advocacy for reusing oil industry water led to a documentary, “The California Drought: Can The Oil Industry Help?”, which was syndicated in 2015 on Biz TV to 45 million homes in the United States. (Trailer here).

In addition to OriginClear, the charter members of the CEO Summit include leaders from natural channels such as: a plant-based lifestyle restaurant franchise; a maker of heritage brand fruit snacks distributed at Walmart; a naturally-fractioned plant protein ingredient maker; a celebrity-worn eco couture design house; a legendary greens and superfruit powder supplement maker; an Ayurvedic topical formula used by PGA athletes; and high nutrient seed-based snacks (that happen to be gluten-free).
