OriginClear Executes MOU with CSU Bakersfield

Parties establish framework to research applications for EWS technology

Los Angeles, CA – June 2, 2015 – OriginClear Inc. (OTC/QB: OOIL), developer of breakthrough water cleanup technology, today announced that the Company executed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with California State University, Bakersfield (CSU Bakersfield). The MOU establishes a cooperative framework to research and validate OriginClear’s technology for application in agriculture and oil and gas operations and widen educational opportunities for CSU Bakersfield students.

“This MOU is a natural fit for OriginClear and CSU Bakersfield. We both share the desire to develop and spread awareness of innovative water management technology,” said Riggs Eckelberry, OriginClear CEO. “California is in a water crisis and we believe cooperation between academics and private industry will play an essential role in shaping our path forward.”

The MOU research projects will focus on evaluating OriginClear’s technology in the treatment of produced water for agricultural applications. CSU Bakersfield and OriginClear will also pursue joint research proposals for project funding, and publish results in appropriate venues.

“OriginClear’s EWS technology has tested well in the field,” said Dr. Luis Edgar Cabrales Arriaga, assistant professor at the Department of Physics and Engineering at CSU Bakersfield. “We’re eager to get this high-potential technology into the lab to study its application across various industries. We believe this is a valuable opportunity for students interested in water and environmental reclamation—a growing field in California—to learn from a leader in the field.”

Faculty and students of CSU Bakersfield will conduct research projects to develop and evaluate OriginClear’s technology for wastewater treatment and other industrial uses. It is expected that if available, these research projects will provide CSU Bakersfield students with internship opportunities. The MOU supports CSU Bakersfield’s commitment to educational excellence.

Professor Cabrales also commented that “California State University, Bakersfield is centrally located on a 375-acre site in the southern San Joaquin Valley. The faculty across the University is world-class, with nearly 75 percent holding doctorate degrees or other terminal degrees in their respective fields. With more than 70 percent of its alumni remaining and working within the Central Valley, CSU Bakersfield supports ongoing social, cultural and economic vitality in the region by providing educational opportunities; supporting workforce development; enhancing quality of life; and promoting regional economic development.
